Donald W. (Butch) Britton serves as chief executive officer of ING U.S. Insurance Solutions. Prior to assuming this role in January of 2009, he led ING's U.S. Life Business Group.
Britton has a 38-year career in Insurance and brings a diversified background in the life and annuity industries to his role. Prior to joining ING in 2004, he was president of the Life Division at American General Financial Group. His experience also includes more than 18 years with First Colony Life, culminating as president of that company, and commensurately senior positions with GE Financial Assurance.
Britton holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics from East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has been honored as the recipient of the Douglas Mooers Award of Excellence presented by the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA) and National Underwriter’s Industry Elite Award for Market Innovation. Britton has served as chairman of the LIMRA Brokerage Committee and served a term on LIMRA’s board of directors. He also served as a director of LL Global.
