Paul L. Mistretta

Paul L. Mistretta is the chief operations officer for ING U.S.  In this position, he oversees the development and execution of ING’s strategy for customer service, new business processing and underwriting, plus technology operations across all U.S. business lines, including ING U.S. Retirement Services, ING Individual Retirement, and ING U.S. Insurance.  Previously, Mistretta ran operations for ING’s Retail Life Insurance and Employee Benefits businesses. 

Prior to joining ING, he served as an executive vice president with American General (an AIG company), responsible for product development, project management, business development, insurance services and business process outsourcing, and other functions.  Prior to that, he was senior vice president and chief operations officer at First Colony Life Insurance (a Genworth Financial company).

Mistretta earned a bachelor’s degree in management science from Kean University in Union, N.J. He is a fellow at the Life Management Institute, with a specialization in information systems. Mistretta currently serves on the board of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA) and is a member of the Deloitte Operations Executive Forum and CSC’s Executive Roundtable.  He has served on Life Office Management Association’s (LOMA) Individual Services and Information Systems committees.
