Clay Miles Elected to ING Field Advisory Council
ING Financial Services announced today that Clay Miles of Gulfport, MS, has been elected to the ING Field Advisory Council. The ING Field Advisory Council is a group of 10 experienced independent agents who focus on developing new retirement plan products for educators and helping other agents be successful in their business.
“I never plan to retire,” said Miles, a 75-year old insurance professional who’s spent a lifetime helping others plan for their own retirement. “For me, the joy of the business has been to see a young teacher start saving a little bit of their salary early on, increasing what they set aside over the years, and becoming financially independent.”
That’s why he keeps on with his work, running his business as an ING Reliastar representative out of his home in Gulfport, MS (since he sold his insurance business, Clay Miles and Associates, in 1999).
Since 1957, Clay has been in the insurance industry, specializing in retirement savings plans for education professionals. He is CLU accredited and has been with ING Reliastar Insurance for more than 13 years.
Clay’s been involved in the Gulfport community for many years, serving on the Gulfport city school board for 5 years and teaching Sunday school (adults) at First Baptist church for 55 years. He is also chairing the property committee locating land to rebuild the First Baptist church that was lost in Hurricane Katrina.
Mayor Brent Warr of Gulfport, MS, who’s known Clay Miles for many years and has seen him in action in the community, says “I can understand how Clay has helped people over the years to learn about savings plans; that’s the kind of gentleman he is, helpful in any way he can be.”
Mr. Miles says: “It’s been very rewarding to me all these years, helping people build comfortable retirement savings to live on. I am thrilled to be a part of the Council to continue to help drive the direction of this industry.”
