ING Financial Partners, the broker-dealer of ING U.S., has rolled out an enhanced technology platform.  ING Financial Partners’ financial professionals now have access to a “hub-based” technology solution that offers industry-leading portfolio and planning tools.  The broker-dealer initially launched ING SmartWorks 2.0 in June of 2011.  The solution is available to the more than 2,500 financial professionals in the ING Financial Partners network.

There is a marked shift in the broker-dealer industry toward client-focused, comprehensive technology platforms.  Financial professionals want vital client information available at their fingertips and cutting-edge technology tools to support their business operations and marketing. And they want to be able to do it no matter where they are, in the office or at a client appointment.

ING SmartWorks 2.0 offers a comprehensive cloud-based customer relationship management system, with features such as advanced campaign management, sales tracking, integration with Microsoft Outlook and mobile device access, powered by

With ING SmartWorks 2.0, financial professionals can:

  • Incorporate investment information from their full book of business, including brokerage accounts, retirement plans and life insurance, which financial professionals can also use to identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Stay top-of-mind with their client base through targeted marketing campaigns
  • Aggregate a client’s household wealth and seamlessly connect to the underlying administration systems to manage each account through a feature called “Client 360 View,” providing one-click access into the trading platform of a client’s brokerage or fee-based accounts

The ING SmartWorks 2.0 solution integrates with many of the latest and most popular third-party tools such as Morningstar® and the MoneyGuide suite of tools, as well as others that give financial professionals access to comprehensive market and financial information.  Through this integration, financial professionals are automatically alerted of any insurance and investment-related changes in their clients’ accounts, making it easier to proactively communicate at important moments and manage their book of business.
