Global financial services leader ING announced that it is once again partnering with the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), the largest network of Latino elected and appointed officials and community leaders in the United States. .This year, ING joins NALEO as the lead sponsor of the organization’s 25th annual conference, which is being held in Washington D.C. this week -- June 25 to June 28

“Like NALEO, ING is committed to our communities. In particular, we share a common goal of promoting financial empowerment within the Hispanic community, the fastest-growing group in this country,” said Javier Palomarez, vice president of multicultural marketing for ING. “We are proud to be serving as the Millennium Sponsor of this year’s conference, helping to celebrate a silver anniversary milestone and the meaningful work of the NALEO organization.”

Through a wide range of products and services, as well as through a variety of community initiatives, ING is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all Americans. ING’s role as Millennium Sponsor of the 25th Annual NALEO Conference is one of many ways in which the financial services company makes a difference in the places it does business. To better connect to the Hispanic community, ING has reached out to NALEO as a powerful resource to gain insights into the needs of this particular market. In addition to NALEO, ING is involved in a number of other organizations and initiatives to help connect with diverse communities and learn more about its customers throughout the United States.

For example, ING partners with Amigos for Kids, a non-profit organization in Miami that helps abused and neglected children. ING also sponsors the Juntos en Concierto Latin concert series to bring the musical talents of Marc Anthony to communities across the country. Through the Juntos en Concierto series, ING and Marc Anthony have partnered to promote the ING Run for Something Better and to combat childhood obesity – a problem for everyone in the U.S. and especially the Hispanic community. The ING Run for Something Better is an initiative that encourages physical fitness and helps to fund free, school and community-based youth running programs in a number of major cities. To date, 30,000 children have participated in this program and have logged over one million miles.
