Wilken Named Head of ING's Direct-to-Producer Channel

ING’s Life Business Group has announced that David Wilken has been named senior vice president, and head of ING LifeDesign. In this role, he will provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership to the LifeDesign channel, which provides customized solutions for producers who serve the mass affluent and business market segment. Wilken reports into Jim Gelder, president of ING’s life distribution.

Wilken brings more than 18 years of insurance and financial services experience to his new role. He joined ING predecessor ReliaStar Financial Corporation in 1986. Wilken most recently served as ING LifeDesign’s regional sales manager for the Western United States, where sales figures more than doubled from 2003 to 2004.

“Dave has been instrumental in defining ING LifeDesign's strategy and working to make it a reality,” said Gelder. “His proven track record of innovative strategic marketing and business development will have a significant impact on growing this distribution channel and the on-going identity of ING LifeDesign within the marketplace”

A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Wilken attended the University of Minnesota where he received a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting, and earned an MBA in finance from the College of St. Thomas. He and his family reside in Medina, Minnesota.
