Children's Education

Children's Education

As part of our commitment to educators, ING U.S. honors and encourages excellence in education through a number of programs and sponsorships, including:

America’s Promise Alliance

Children's Education

Founded by General Colin Powell and his wife, Alma, America’s Promise Alliance is the nation’s largest partnership of groups committed to ensuring that children receive the fundamental resources they need to lead successful, healthy and productive lives and build a stronger society. ING U.S. has made a five-year, $3 million commitment to support the organization.

ING Unsung Heroes Awards Program

The ING Unsung Heroes® program recognizes those classroom heroes who take teaching to new heights and make learning fun. Each year, ING U.S. presents 100 grants totaling $240,000 to help fund innovative classroom projects nationwide.

ING Run for Something Better

ING U.S. wants to help people achieve not just financial fitness, but physical fitness as well. We work with local communities to create school-based running and fitness programs, and distribute grants through the ING Run For Something Better Awards. These community partnerships, which we call the ING Run for Something Better, introduce young people to the joys and challenges of running and show kids how exercise can help achieve good health.

National Teacher of the Year

ING U.S. is proud to be the first-ever presenting co-sponsor of the National Teacher of the Year, a program of the Council of Chief State School Officers, which is the oldest, most prestigious national honors program recognizing excellence in K-12 education in the U.S.

National Superintendent of the Year

As a co-sponsor of the National Superintendent of the Year (NSOY) program, ING U.S. is proud to work with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and ARAMARK to recognize public school superintendents and their exceptional contributions towards educating America's youth.
