Teachers receive grants to create programs

One of the winning ideas in the 2013 ING Unsung Heroes competition was submitted by six teachers at Captain Leland Norton Elementary School. They received a $2,000 ING Unsung Heroes grant to help create a ”WASTE-Full Community Garden,” which will use the school cafeteria’s food waste to create compost that will be used in planting a community garden.
